A lot of vehicles are pretty much out of reach for stock pictures. Either they don't exist anymore or the remaining few look like crap. SO I decided to do a bit of an experiment here combining my other hobby with Stockphotography. Namely: Scalemodelling. Reasoning that a well painted model works just as well as a real vehicle I'm planning to put some pics of every Project I finish here for all you to use.
The experiment starts off with the RF8 GAZ98 Aerosled. From the russian army during ww2 It was the predeccesor of the modern snowmobile. And wreaked havoc among the Germans on the Russian lakes, forests and Rivers during the hard Russian Winters
Love the Weathering on this! The modell itself looks more like from a scifi-alternative-WW2 setting or something like that, but it did really exist, so what Did you use pigments for the weathering/ rust or oil? Or only acrylic colour?
Thanks for the compliments Indeed you are right. The design kinda reminds me of something a crazy steampunk inventor would have created. Only lacking the obligatory Steamengine. Usually I use Pigments for weathering. But this time the whole vehicle was painted, weathering included. A base of acrylics with washing and Filtering in Enamel. All chips were handpainted as were the markings and the stains.
